Transforming One Bathroom into Two
Bathroom remodeling for this original first floor bathroom was to transform this space into two bathrooms - one opening to the master bedroom and a second smaller half for guests. During demolition, it was discovered that the crawl space above the ceiling was used for air flow instead of the use of ducting. New ducting and air vents were properly installed allowing for better air flow into the master bedroom and hallway. A wider door opening with a beautiful barn door closure served dual purposes of aesthetics and wider accessibility to the master bathroom. A tiled walk-in shower with built-in bench and soap niche replaced the original bathtub. Custom-built cabinets, granite surfaces and new ceramic tile flooring added to the transformation of this comfortable, updated and functional space. See photo of original bathroom as demo began on the bottom of this page.

Vintage Bathroom Remodel
This Houston client wanted a complete vintage remodel to the only bathroom in the Montrose-area house before they moved in. The photo below features the linen cabinet with drawers and shelves that we custom-built for the client. Glass inserts in cabinet doors and an overhead light reveal beautiful carpentry. Part of the wainscoating was removed to change the new tub surround to subway tile with a colorful insert. A tiled bench was added to the new bathtub area to fill the wall space. The old floor was replaced with vintage looking tile in the wide plank wood pattern. A pedestal sink, vintage accessories fixtures, and new light fixtures contrast nicely against a bright blue wall.
The client's design maintained the vintage look of this old house, which is carried throughout. Read Becky's review below or on the Reviews page. The kitchen will be our next remodel here when the client is ready. Let HomeBase Repairs be your Houston Bathroom Remodeling Contractor for the vintage look.

A recent bathroom project was for a client in the small town of Damon, about 39 miles southwest of Houston. They wanted their Jacuzzi replaced with a freestanding tub placed on wood-effect tile floor, which would cover the entire room. The existing walk-in shower opening was widened and totally updated - complete with a frameless sliding shower door. Existing vanity cabinets were replaced with custom-built his & her vanity cabinets topped with white quartz. See the results in photos, client's testimonial and the video below.

Manuel and his crew were excellent workers! The job was done when he said it would be, the workers showed up everyday that they were scheduled and were always on time. They cleaned up after themselves daily, as well. If we ever have another renovation to do, we would call Manuel in a heartbeat!

Toilet in Shower Area
This client requested the downward slope to the bathroom floor be leveled, so that the slope would only be apparent in their walk-in toilet to shower area. Coordinating mosaic tiles contrast the linear-tiled wall pattern in the shower area. Muted painted walls, tiled tub surround, framed mirror and new light fixtures pull the whole room together. Our customer in Simonton, TX sent us their video of the job we did for them. After discovering a leak in their master bathroom shower, HomeBase Repairs demolished the exterior wall to re-mediate the mold growth. Instead of replacing the brick at the back corner of the house, the design decision was made to replace with glass block. The result is a beautiful, renovation that does not reveal a previous problem existed. View the video above and hear from the client's perspective.

HomeBase Repairs did a bathroom remodel for us. They had great ideas, stayed within the budget, and did an excellent quality job. There was one thing a subcontractor did that I was not pleased with, but told them I would accept. Next thing I knew, they had it redone, no questions asked. Hard to find good contractors these days. I was very pleased with their work and the great attitude of the people at HomeBase Repairs.
